The Heart of the Hive
My Quilting
Story Begins
My quilting journey began in 2011 when my mother convinced me to join her for a weekend "quilt camp." Despite having no experience, I completed a twin-sized quilt and won a prize for the "biggest smile." After a brief hiatus, I resumed sewing once I had kids, designing my own quilts and eventually falling in love with longarm quilting in 2017. I now quilt on both a Handi Quilter Avante (using computerized designs) and a Handi Quilter Sixteen, focusing on freemotion quilting.
Passion meets Community
I quilt and teach out of my home studio in Granville, Ohio, where I live with my husband, three kids, and our dog Jim. I also co-teach art and craft workshops in our small town. Beyond quilting, I work as an adoption supervisor for a nonprofit adoption agency, drawing on my background in mental health counseling.
